That install included, by the way, the "Anarchy's Children" DLC with an install date of January 1, 2017. New DLC for XCOM 2 has been added to your account and will be installed along with the game.Ĭlicking on that gave a checkmark for all of the DLC content added since the game was installed (on January 1, 2017). The breakthrough came when I took a second look at the notification on the Steam Game window for XCOM 2 that appeared after I accepted the gifts. It has nothing to do with "Anarchy's Children". Okay, I have been doing research and experimentation and I was definitely wrong about the culprit. Too bad.Īnyway, thank you all for your responses and help. It is disappointing and rude that the rip took place with no way to reverse it (like de-selecting a DLC). It is apparently not a DLC, even though it is official. Apparently this gift simply destroys most of the customization options and leaves no choice or way to not play with those official modifications. When I went to the initial play screen, it shows only one DLC (the War of the Chosen) installed (it shows zero mods installed, as I said). I accepted the gifts in the spirit of the season without even remembering the potential perils.īecause it is cosmetic, it will not ruin the game play, but Yeah, it ruins some of the enjoyment of the game. This expansion, or whatever it is, removed the best looking customizations, IMO, and only left a few new ones that look. So, any of you not playing the game before 8 years ago might not have the slightest idea what I am talking about. Besides, I liked the way my characters look within the older customization. It was released on Maand, because it was purely cosmetic I never picked it up. something, not officially a DLC, called "Anarchy's Children" (not sure but apparrently, and it would explain why what I am talking about is not readily apparent to other players). I am reading and absorbing and researching. Does this make any sense or do I just sound like a crazy person? I do not mind new cosmetic options, but it is disappointing that some were apparently removed when the DLC was added. I am concerned that if I delete config files that it will also delete the configurations I saved just now. I never installed any mods, figuring I had plenty to work on with the Vanilla game. I have no mods installed, other than the official DLC that appears to be very much like what was earlier the "Long War" mod, but I do not have the mod, only the official DLC. I saved the configuration for those characters I created before the change, but in all honesty I am not sure how to use those files to insert the characters into new games. Those options (Legs, Torso and the settings I chose) are still there in my current game for those characters I had already recruited and configured, but when recruiting new characters the options are not there. The Props now show the upper and lower face props, which were not options before. The "Props" I am referring to are the "Legs" and "Torso" Props. Does not specifically affect game play, but does fix some broken internal connections by creating links in the data which are broken or left out as an oversight. If that is the case, once you download and load the AML, subscribe to Highlander and Highlander Alien Hunter's sub mod. Guessing since you did not say, the DLC you got included the Alien Hunters. especially if you are running mods from Workshop. To go one step farther, you might need to ditch the 2K launcher for the Alternative mod Launcher found here. This really needs to be done between campaigns which were multiple launched and/or reloaded anyways. 9 times out of ten, unless you have mods added which were updated or not the correct version once you have DLC change, it will be the config files in documents, my games, XCOM 2 WotC, XCOMGame folder, delete the config folder, launch game to regenerate the config file, make any settings changes, exit, launch again to pick up those changes and play unless you have mods and you need to launch a third time for those to be fully loaded again.
